Copyright & Copywrong
Just a quick update from me today.
There won’t be a new video this week—not for lack of ideas or effort, but because I’ve just discovered that 26 copyright claims are currently active across my channel (!).
These claims aren’t malicious and didn’t arise from any misuse or unlicensed content. I’ve been careful throughout this project, making sure everything I use—music, visuals, tools—is fully licensed and above board. Especially with AI content, I know there’s often a question mark around copyright, so I’ve taken extra care.
It seems these claims are a by-product of how new content sometimes gets flagged early in a channel’s life. Still, they took me by surprise. I hadn’t noticed them—some have been active since my second video. It’s hard to swallow that they may have been restricting my channel’s reach this whole time, without me realising.
Beyond the technical side, it’s been emotionally tough too. These aren’t just videos—they’re the result of two months of work, often into the early hours. To find out that something preventable may have been holding them back? Honestly, it’s disheartening. So right now, getting this sorted is my priority.
I suppose it’s part of the learning curve. And I’ll take that forward.
Meanwhile, I’ve been developing several new playlists and ideas—projects that need a fair bit of groundwork before they’re ready to share. But they’re on the way. I’ve probably got enough sketched-out concepts to last me the rest of the year, lol.
So even without uploads this week, I’m still working hard behind the scenes—shaping new content and building on ideas, with every spare hand I can find (virtual ones included).
Oh—and if you fancy a read, don’t forget to check out my other blog posts (and the Waterlane Podcast) over on my Buy Me a Coffee page.
Thanks for sticking with me — more to come soon.
